Kárpátia Restaurant is proud to support quality Hungarian winemaking by featuring exclusively Hungarian wines on the wine card. It was the Romans who first planted vines on the present territory of Hungary and later Hungarians, soon after their settlement, mastered the art of winemaking.
The variety of the landscape and climate makes it possible for traditional local as well as international varieties to thrive on Hungarian soil. Today we enjoy a long-awaited revival of Hungarian winemaking and Hungary is getting to the place it deserves among the greatest wine countries. We carefully select our wines from the historical wine regions of Hungary to fit with the dishes on the menu and satisfy all tastes. For example Tokaj wines are usually known as sweet dessert wines, but we added a couple of dry Tokaj wines to give you an idea how versatile the terroir is.
Pálinka is the name of the national spirit – a brandy made from virtually every kind of fruit that grows in Hungary. And thanks to the climate we have an enormous variety of fruits! The name pálinka is protected and its production is carefully and strictly regulated (only perfect fruits can be distilled with nothing else added), therefore pálinka today is a prestige spirit with buoyant fruit aromas and fragrance. We selected Hungary’s prime pálinkas for you – enjoy them before of after the meal. Please ask your server for recommendations.
